Wild Goose Brews Up Chesapeake’s Own

The Wild Goose Brewery was established in 1989. The brewery was created as a throwback to the days of old when small breweries produced beers of great character and distinction. Wild Goose Brewery’s family of styles have always been chosen and brewed with character, distinction and quality as the driving force.

The brewery was originally located in the old Phillips Packing Company building in Cambridge, MD. Production started in October 1989 and quickly grew to over 20,000 barrels by 1996, making Wild Goose one of the largest micro-breweries in the Mid-Atlantic region. In December of 1997, in an effort to expand by consolidating production and distribution resources, Wild Goose merged with the Frederick Brewing Company and moved its brewing operations to Frederick.

Today, Frederick is still home and the brewery has been renamed “Wild Goose Brewery.” Wild Goose is available in four different styles that can be found year round, including IPA, Amber, Oatmeal Stout and Nut brown as well as two popular seasonals, Pumpkin Patch and Snow Goose. The Wild Goose families of brands are distributed in five states across the Mid-Atlantic region and still brewed to create a taste with character and distinction like no other American Craft Beer.
